A New Chapter

Starting as a freshman at John Carroll can be a bit scary, especially coming from a school where there were less people in the entire student body than in my freshman class. Trying to find my way around and trying to open my locker were some of the struggles that I had to face today. I've gotten lost at least twice and second guessed myself on whether or not I was going to the right classes over a million times. My first class today was Human Geography, and I was fairly early. The subject seems interesting and Mr. Schick is a pretty cool teacher, although he joked about how some of my metal bands were explaining my satanic beliefs (I'm don't have any by the way), but it was a good laugh. I got lost going to Biology, met the people in my advisory, and I, then, made my way to Algebra. Math has never been my strong suit, but I somehow tested into Advanced Algebra 2. Lunch was a mob scene,  and I stood in line for what seemed like forever, but it was worked out in the end and I found my friends. The amount of people in the cafeteria at lunch was about triple, if not more, than the people who made up the whole of my old school. I like the change of scenery, though. It's nice to see new faces and make new friends. My art class excited me before I even started school. It's a way for me to relax and I love the art wing. I just find it to be really pretty and peaceful. Overall, the freshman experience, so far anyway, has been nice. I can already tell that I'm going to like it here.
